River Crest Country Club, situated just five miles from downtown Fort Worth, is recognized as the city's oldest and most storied country club. The Pastry Cook role at River Crest Country Club is a vital position within the Culinary team, responsible for creating a variety of pastry and dessert items that align with the club’s standards of excellence. This full-time position offers competitive pay ranging from $20 to $23 per hour, reflective of verifiable experience. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for preparing continental breakfast items, a variety of pastries, cakes, pies, and a la carte desserts, as well as desserts for banquets and special events. This role requires strict adherence to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring that all items meet the club’s culinary expectations for quality and appearance. The position demands a neat, organized, and self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic kitchen environment. The Pastry Cook will collaborate closely with the Executive Pastry Chef, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef to deliver an exceptional culinary experience to members and guests at private events, member parties, and various club functions.

In addition to baking and dessert preparation, the Pastry Cook will be tasked with maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen, following safety and sanitation protocols rigorously to meet health code standards. Responsibilities also include operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, restocking supplies throughout shifts, assisting with kitchen organization, and supporting the culinary team during buffet preparations and large group events. Job Duties

  • Prepare all pastry items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow all club pastry recipes and presentation specifications
  • Follow the club's culinary standards
  • Ensure the highest of food standards and freshness of all food products
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean area and maintain station by practicing good safety and sanitation procedures meeting health code standards
  • Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift
  • Cook for small to large groups following banquet event orders
  • Assist the team that prepares the weekly buffets
  • Responsible for producing high quality food that meets the Chef's standards
  • Meet daily timelines
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Executive Pastry Chef / Sous Chef / Executive Chef
  • Check all items prepped to assure it meets the Chef's standard
  • Maintain teamwork focus at all times
  • Completes all assigned culinary tasks in a timely and an attractive manner
  • Treat members with utmost respect
