Job Description

The LINE is more than just a collection of hotels; it is a vibrant, creative community centered around discovery, culture, and unique experiences. Each of our properties is strategically located in emerging neighborhoods across dynamic cities such as Koreatown in Los Angeles, Adams Morgan in Washington DC, and downtown Austin. Our hotels stand out architecturally and culturally, blending seamlessly with their surroundings while simultaneously contributing something new and exciting to the local scene. We collaborate with top local and nationally recognized talent in design, food and beverage, arts, and culture to create a distinctive environment that resonates with both residents and visitors. At The LINE, we pride ourselves on providing an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere where diverse ideas and backgrounds are celebrated and encouraged.

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality and an entrepreneurial mindset. As a Pastry Cook at The LINE, you will be responsible for crafting a variety of baked goods and desserts, ranging from classic Americana-style pastries to more sophisticated viennoiserie and sourdough hearth breads. Your baking repertoire will also extend to making ice cream, pâte de fruit, and other intricate creations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a high-volume kitchen that is fun, challenging, and collaborative.

In this role, you will maintain a professional demeanor at all times, working courteously and graciously with guests, fellow colleagues, and other departments within the hotel. Effective communication and teamwork will be key, as you will be expected to support a positive work environment and help ensure that every guest enjoys an exceptional hospitality experience consistent with the hotel’s standards of excellence.

You will be responsible for managing baking and preparation lists throughout your shifts, ensuring that all necessary supplies are prepped on time, labeled accurately, and finished to a high standard. Maintaining an organized and sanitary workspace along with adhering to health and hygiene protocols is essential. You will approach your craft with curiosity and openness, actively engaging with the Pastry Chef to refine techniques and processes. Safety will be a priority as well, and familiarity with OSHA requirements and emergency procedures is needed.

At The LINE, we value a collaborative spirit and take pride in lifting each other up as a team. You will participate in relevant meetings and contribute to continuous improvement in our kitchen operations. This role offers growth opportunities within an inclusive, diverse, and supportive work environment where your skills and creativity can flourish. We offer competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, reflecting our commitment to employee well-being and professional development.
