The Sheraton Dallas Hotel is currently inviting applications for the position of Culinary Associate. This role is designed to offer engaging career growth opportunities, particularly through a partnership with Rouxbe Cooking School which provides access to an innovative online culinary training platform. This self-paced program enables culinary associates at all experience levels to enhance their skills through visually appealing and well-structured lessons that can be immediately applied in their daily duties at the hotel. Culinary associates at Sheraton Dallas are tasked with preparing and cooking food in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation expectations. They play an integral role in ingredient preparation, portioning, chopping, and proper storage, ensuring all culinary outputs meet the hotel's elevated food safety and quality standards.
The responsibilities of this position include the safe and appropriate use of baking, measuring, and cooking tools and appliances, diligent adherence to food safety handling protocols, including personal hygiene standards, and maintaining compliance with all sanitation and cleaning procedures in the kitchen. Associates are responsible for ensuring that kitchen appliances and food items are at proper temperatures and reporting any discrepancies to management promptly. Furthermore, culinary associates maintain clean and organized workstations, demonstrate professionalism in uniform and appearance, and contribute positively to team dynamics with clear communication and cooperative teamwork. Physical demands of the role require the ability to move, lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 25 pounds, as well as stand, sit, or walk for extended periods on potentially uneven or slippery surfaces.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Less than 1-year related work experience
- No supervisory experience
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
- Ability to work on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
- Ability to follow safety and hygiene protocols consistently
Job Qualifications

- Willingness to participate in online culinary training
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and food safety guidelines

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use
- Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances to prepare baked foods
- Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures
- Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, and report issues to management
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area
