The role of Pastry Cook at Sonesta International Hotels is a pivotal position within their culinary team. This role involves preparing and baking a variety of desserts including cakes, cookies, pies, puddings, and other pastries. The Pastry Cook must have a strong foundation in baking and pastry skills, often working with precise measurements and techniques to create doughs, batters, fillings, and icings with care and attention to detail. A culinary pastry degree or prior hotel experience is highly preferred. Communication skills are critical in this role for maintaining safety standards, delivering training, and engaging with guests and team members effectively. The role demands physical stamina to handle up to 100 pounds occasionally and work in environments exposed to temperature extremes and mechanical equipment. Sonesta values professional appearance, a strong work ethic, and certifications such as a valid ServSafe Food Handler Certificate to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality. The company offers competitive pay along with employee benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation, retirement plans, parental leave, and various other perks that support employee well-being and growth. This role is an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals who are passionate about pastry arts and desire to contribute to a vibrant and growing hospitality brand.
