The role of a Pastry Cook in this dynamic kitchen is critical to maintaining the quality and artistry of pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, jams, and elaborate displays or centerpieces. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and executing a range of pastry products with precision and adherence to departmental quality standards and specifications. This position requires an individual with keen attention to detail, culinary skill, and an ability to work efficiently under various conditions including exposure to temperature changes, odors, noise, and chemicals. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, Executive Pastry Chef, and Assistant Pastry Chef, the Pastry Cook will be integral in supporting the operations of the Pastry/Bake Shop.
The Pastry Cook will engage in multiple essential functions including planning, preparation, and setting up workstations, as well as producing dessert menu items for restaurants, room service, and banquet events. The role demands strict compliance with sanitation and health regulations while maintaining organized, clean, and safe work areas. The Pastry Cook will actively participate in inventory processes, plating for banquets, and off-premise catering events, adapting to the varying demands of a busy culinary operation. Besides technical culinary expertise, this role also involves guest interaction, problem-solving, and collaboration with various hotel departments such as Stewarding, F&B Service, and Engineering to ensure a seamless guest experience. The ideal candidate will be motivated, reliable, and passionate about pastry arts and customer satisfaction.

- food handling certificate

Job Duties
- plan, prep, set up and prepare quality pastry and baked goods including desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, syrups, jams and displays
- maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
