Job Duties
- plan, prep, set up and prepare quality pastry and baked goods including desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, syrups, jams and displays
- maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- comply with departmental policies, service procedures and standards
- maintain and correctly use equipment
- anticipate and respond promptly to guests' needs
- maintain positive guest relations
- monitor and uphold sanitation and health regulations
- collaborate with pastry chef and team on assignments and business levels
- complete opening and closing duties including workstation setup, inventory checks, cleaning, and restocking
- produce dessert menu items following recipes and yield guides
- create centerpieces for banquets and buffets
- prepare room service amenity orders
- assist bakers as needed
- minimize waste and control food costs
- disinfect and sanitize work surfaces
- assist stewards with efficient cleanup
- review work status and follow-up actions with pastry chef
