Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous culinary or pastry experience in a similar setting
- Knowledge of Japanese dessert styles preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to follow health and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pastry cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment
- Solid understanding of pastry techniques including mixing, baking, piping, and decorating
- A genuine love for culinary experiences and passion for Japanese cuisine
- Ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Customer-oriented mindset with attention to detail
Job Duties
- Assist in the preparation and production of a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods following recipes and guidelines established by the Head Pastry Chef or Head Chef
- Execute precise measurements and techniques to ensure consistency and quality in all pastry creations
- Prepare and assemble components for plated desserts including sauces, creams, garnishes, and accompaniments
- Bake, decorate, and finish pastries and desserts with attention to detail and presentation standards
- Collaborate closely with kitchen team to uphold Etaru’s standards of excellence
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry workstation
- Assist in inventory management and ingredient ordering as needed
