Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary or pastry experience in a similar setting
  • Knowledge of Japanese dessert styles preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness to follow health and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a pastry cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment
  • Solid understanding of pastry techniques including mixing, baking, piping, and decorating
  • A genuine love for culinary experiences and passion for Japanese cuisine
  • Ability to work flexibly including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Customer-oriented mindset with attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and production of a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods following recipes and guidelines established by the Head Pastry Chef or Head Chef
  • Execute precise measurements and techniques to ensure consistency and quality in all pastry creations
  • Prepare and assemble components for plated desserts including sauces, creams, garnishes, and accompaniments
  • Bake, decorate, and finish pastries and desserts with attention to detail and presentation standards
  • Collaborate closely with kitchen team to uphold Etaru’s standards of excellence
  • Maintain a clean and organized pastry workstation
  • Assist in inventory management and ingredient ordering as needed
