The role of Culinary Associate at JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic food and beverage team committed to excellence and innovation. This full-time, non-management position requires availability for evening shifts, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the resort's commitment to providing superb service at all times. The culinary associate will engage with a comprehensive training program through a partnership with the Rouxbe Cooking School, an industry-leading online culinary training platform. This initiative allows associates of varying experience levels to access self-paced, visually engaging lessons designed to enhance culinary skills that can be applied directly within their roles at the resort.
In this position, associates will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. This includes preparing ingredients through portioning, chopping, and proper storage, as well as using baking and measuring tools and appliances safely and effectively. The role demands strict adherence to food safety handling policies and personal hygiene procedures to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and compliance with health regulations. Culinary associates will also monitor food quality and portion sizes throughout their shifts, maintaining consistent excellence in every dish served.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Less than 1-year related work experience
- Availability for evening shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
- Prepare ingredients including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use
- Safely use baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances
- Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and personal hygiene procedures
- Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, reporting issues to management
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area, set up and break down work stations, follow cleaning procedures
- Monitor quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift
- Follow company policies including safety and security, report accidents and unsafe conditions
- Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
- Communicate clearly and maintain positive team relationships
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting objects up to 25 pounds and moving over various surfaces
- Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors
