The Pastry Cook role is integral to our culinary team, responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods that delight our members and guests during daily service and special events. The position demands creativity, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for pastry arts, ensuring each product not only tastes exquisite but is visually stunning and aligns with the club’s high standards. Responsibilities include preparing a broad range of baked goods such as cakes, cookies, tarts, and desserts, developing new recipes and refining current ones to elevate quality and consistency, and ensuring all products are attractively presented. The Pastry Cook assists with menu planning for special events, maintains cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards, coordinates production and service schedules with the culinary team, monitors inventory, and supports ordering needs.
Additionally, the Pastry Cook mentors junior pastry staff, sharing techniques and best practices, and remains informed about industry trends to continually enhance the club’s offerings. This position does not include supervisory responsibilities but requires strong teamwork, communication, and a proactive approach to challenges and opportunities.
The physical demands of the job include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent bending and reaching, occasional climbing, and working in varying kitchen temperature conditions. The role demands a flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate member events and functions. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role
- Completion of a culinary program with a focus on pastry arts is preferred
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare a wide range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods, including cakes, cookies, tarts, and desserts for special occasions
- Develop new dessert recipes and optimize existing recipes for quality and consistency
- Ensure all pastries and baked goods are presented attractively and meet quality standards
- Assist in menu planning for special events, banquets, and member functions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
- Work closely with the culinary team to coordinate production and service schedules
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff, providing guidance on techniques and best practices
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continually enhance offerings
