Cambridge School of Culinary Arts (CSCA) Cafe is an innovative and vibrant cafe and bakery that is quickly establishing itself as a favorite community gathering spot. Known for its exceptional coffee and exquisite pastries, CSCA Cafe proudly highlights the culinary talents of students enrolled in the Professional Culinary programs at CSCA. We are currently seeking an Early Morning Baker to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial to the success of the cafe as it involves preparing and baking a variety of high-quality pastries and baked goods before the cafe opens to the public. The Early Morning Baker plays an essential role in maintaining the freshness and consistency of our products, ensuring that customers receive the best possible experience each day. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a strong baking background and a commitment to upholding health, safety, and quality standards in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative setting and contribute to the continued growth and reputation of CSCA Cafe. This is a part-time hourly position with working hours primarily early in the mornings, offering a competitive wage based on experience and educational background ranging from $22 to $27 per hour. Prospective candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and an early morning schedule starting in the evenings and concluding early in the morning. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years of baking or pastry industry experience preferred
- ability to work early morning hours including nighttime schedule
- physical stamina for long hours and manual labor
- food safe handling certification
- strong knowledge of baking techniques and equipment
- excellent organizational skills

Job Duties
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately to prepare doughs, batters, and other baking mixtures according to established recipes
- operate ovens and baking equipment to bake products to specifications, adjusting temperatures and times as necessary
- monitor and ensure the quality and consistency of baked goods, making adjustments to recipes or processes as needed
- track and manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ordering and restocking as needed to maintain production levels
- maintain a clean and organized workspace, including regular cleaning of baking equipment and adherence to health and safety regulations
- package finished products appropriately for sale or distribution, ensuring presentation meets company standards
- document ingredient usage, inventory levels, and any issues or adjustments made during the baking process
