With a strong presence across various locations, Hai Hospitality focuses on creating vibrant workplace cultures that emphasize continuous learning, career growth, and a supportive team environment. The company prides itself on delivering an exceptional guest experience while fostering an inclusive community where diversity is celebrated and employees feel valued and empowered to contribute their unique talents.
The Pastry Sous Chef position at Uchi Salt Lake City is a unique opportunity to be part of the opening team in a brand-new location of this prestigious hospitality group. This role offers an annual salary range of $75,000 to $80,000, dependent on experience, and requires candidates to temporarily relocate for paid training in one of Hai Hospitality's existing markets such as Austin, Denver, Scottsdale, or West Hollywood, with travel and lodging fully covered. The Pastry Sous Chef will play a critical role in maintaining the high standards of a high-volume, scratch kitchen known for quality and innovation.
In this role, you will take on leadership responsibilities by motivating, mentoring, and developing a dedicated pastry team. You will be tasked with creating and executing inventive pastry menus aligned with Hai Hospitality's culinary vision. Your creativity will extend beyond everyday service by developing desserts for special events and off-site catering, which requires collaboration with the broader culinary leadership team to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Administrative duties such as ordering, scheduling, and inventory management will also be part of the role, alongside the flexibility to travel for support between different locations.
Hai Hospitality emphasizes a culture of craft, where culinary professionals are encouraged to innovate and take pride in their work. This position requires candidates who are experienced in high-volume, scratch kitchens and have at least one year of culinary leadership or management experience. Candidates must also be passionate about delivering exceptional food and innovative hospitality experiences, skilled in providing constructive feedback, and enthusiastic about celebrating team successes. A strong work ethic and commitment to the company values are essential to thrive in this dynamic environment.
Working at Hai Hospitality means enjoying a rich array of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance options, an employee assistance program with mental health services, an employer-matched 401k savings plan, opportunities for career advancement through promotions from within, dining discounts, family contributions towards medical premiums, maternity and paternity leave, and paid vacation benefits. Employees at Hai Hospitality take pride in their contributions to a company that supports both their professional growth and personal well-being.
