Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pastry and scratch cooking
- Ability to work a full-time schedule including varied hours Monday through Sunday
- Experience in high-end, fine dining, or large-scale production environments preferred
- Ability to supervise and manage kitchen staff
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to abide by all Company policies and safety procedures including use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pastry and scratch cooking
- Experience in high-end, fine dining, and/or large-scale production environments preferred
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to manage inventory and control food costs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience is desirable
Job Duties
- Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
- Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled and appropriate quantity is prepared based on established production needs
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure compliance with federal, state and corporate standards
- Supervises hourly kitchen and pastry associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, performance reviews and disciplinary actions
- Helps plan and implement seasonal menus
- Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels
- Performs other duties as assigned
