Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- ability to stand and walk constantly during shift
- capacity to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- physical ability to kneel, push, pull, and occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs and ramps
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- highly responsible and reliable
- ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous
- knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene
- experience in a supervisory role within a culinary environment is preferred
Job Duties
- Understand the importance and demonstrate a commitment to our ‘Our Culinary Culture’
- act as leader and supervisor of the team
- organize, delegate, prioritize and assign duties to cooks
- supervise colleagues to ensure high level of production and efficient execution of service
- maintain knowledge of all menu items, syllabus, daily features and promotions
- ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and standards
- monitor and delegate Environmental Health and Safety standards
- maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment
- report tardiness and unsafe work practices
- operate kitchen station effectively and prepare colleagues for success
- participate actively in daily shift briefings
- liaise with chefs regarding guest feedback
- strive to improve food preparation and presentation
- ensure kitchen waste management follows sustainability procedures
- comply with kitchen policies and service standards
- perform other duties as assigned
