Job Requirements
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
- five to ten years experience in baking and pastry

Job Qualifications
- Culinary school preferred
- food handler certification required

Job Duties

- possessing a high level of creativity and high quality standards
- functioning as a very strong leader, communicator and trainer
- ensuring correct preparation and presentation of consistent level of all pastry items
- planning and developing menus considering product availability, service cost, marketing conditions and number to be served
- supervising all methods of food preparation, cooking, portion size, garnishing and presentation of pastry items
- coordinating and supervising ordering of food supplies and kitchen equipment, approving products to meet quality standards
- training, disciplining, supervising and organizing all kitchen personnel regularly
- holding regular meetings with kitchen staff and participating in required meetings
- treating employees fairly and consistently to achieve high morale and minimum turnover
- maintaining a high level of colleague morale and motivation
- supervising maintenance and cleanliness of all food preparation equipment
- developing and ensuring a safe working environment
- setting up control systems to assure quality and portion consistency
- creating proper purchasing specifications
- monitoring and reviewing operating criteria and food preparation quality
- reviewing food presentations and recommending changes
- communicating regularly with Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous Chef about kitchen activities and results
- responding properly in hotel emergency or safety situations
- performing other tasks or projects as assigned by management
