The Pastry Chef role at Daniel Island Club is a vital position within the culinary team, operating under the direction of the Director of Culinary Operations. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality pastry and baked items for the club's restaurants, banquets, and special events. Taking full ownership of their assigned duties, the Pastry Chef must demonstrate the ability to work independently while contributing creatively to menu development and new dessert innovations.

Responsibilities include crafting breakfast pastries, cakes, tortes, tarts, pies, mousses, breads, and other specialty items requested by members, emphasizing from-scratch baking techniques and a thorough understanding of time and product management. The Pastry Chef must also be capable of interpreting and executing banquet event orders and detailed written directions with precision.

Job Requirements
- minimum of five years experience in a commercial pastry kitchen with a minimum of one year in a management role
- willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- previous baking from scratch experience
- ability to understand and execute banquet event orders and written directions
- must be a professional dedicated to the craft
- willingness to learn and experiment with modern techniques and presentations
- willingness to assist in all aspects of the culinary department
Job Qualifications
- minimum of five years experience in a commercial pastry kitchen with at least one year in a management role
- degree in pastry studies or completion of pastry apprenticeship
- willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- previous baking from scratch experience
- ability to understand and execute banquet event orders
- professional dedication to pastry craft with a willingness to learn and experiment with modern techniques
- ability to assist in various culinary tasks
- high-end private club experience preferred but not required
