Job Requirements

  • Experience in pastry baking from scratch
  • Ability to work with the executive chef in developing recipes
  • Availability to work full-time schedule Sunday through Thursday 5:00 am to 1:30 pm
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and proper kitchen handling techniques
  • Ability to maintain and monitor kitchen environment cleanliness and equipment
  • Must comply with company policies including use of protective gloves, proper lifting, and slip-resistant footwear

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in pastry baking from scratch
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an executive chef in recipe development
  • Strong leadership skills to supervise and train kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to maintain high-quality food presentation and portion control
  • Effective organizational skills to manage inventory and scheduling
  • Prior experience in menu planning preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
  • Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled and appropriate quantity is prepared based on established production needs
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure a work environment that meets or exceeds federal, state and corporate standards and regulations
  • Supervises hourly kitchen/pastry associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate
  • Helps plan and implement seasonal menus
  • Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels
  • Performs other duties as assigned
