Job Description

Cypress Social is a distinguished and award-winning restaurant and event center located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Known for its exceptional service and culinary excellence, Cypress Social offers guests a unique dining experience featuring an eclectic mix of one-of-a-kind dishes rooted in Southern-inspired flavors. The venue combines a warm, inviting atmosphere with a commitment to innovation in both its kitchen and bar menus, ensuring that every visit is memorable. Its dedication to quality and creativity has earned it a reputation as a top destination for locals and visitors alike, making it a standout establishment in the vibrant culinary scene of Arkansas.

The pastry department at Cypress Social plays a critical role in maintaining the restaurant's high standards and elevating its dining experience. As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for all aspects related to the pastry operation, ensuring that desserts meet the quality and consistency standards established by the Executive Chef, General Manager, and Ownership. This is a position that demands attention to detail, creativity, and strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, General Manager, and Assistant General Manager, the Pastry Chef is crucial in upholding Cypress Social's reputation for excellence.

In this role, you will oversee the preparation and presentation of all dessert offerings, from initial prep work through to service. Maintaining a clean and sanitized pastry station and surrounding areas is essential to meet company standards and health code regulations. The Pastry Chef will also manage kitchen organization, product rotation, and routine maintenance to ensure smooth operation within the department. Precise adherence to recipes guarantees consistency in the dessert program, while staying current with industry trends allows for the introduction of new culinary techniques and presentations that keep the menu fresh and exciting.

Beyond daily operations, the Pastry Chef will assist in ordering special ingredients as needed and will be responsible for conducting weekly inventory counts for the pastry department. Good communication skills are necessary for coordinating with other kitchen staff and management, as well as for reporting any kitchen equipment or appliance repairs promptly. This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings, reflecting the dynamic nature of the restaurant industry.

Joining Cypress Social offers a chance to contribute to a vibrant culinary team dedicated to creating memorable guest experiences. If you have a passion for pastry arts and enjoy working in a collaborative, high-energy environment, this opportunity could be the perfect fit. The location in North Little Rock adds the benefit of being part of a community that values quality dining and cultural engagement, making your role impactful both within the restaurant and beyond.
