The current opportunity at Via Aurelia is for a Sous Chef who will play a critical leadership role within the kitchen. This position is perfect for candidates who are enthusiastic about Italian cuisine and eager to deepen their knowledge and skills in this area. The ideal candidate should be outgoing, positive, and possess a strong background in hospitality and full-service restaurant environments. Beyond culinary expertise, the Sous Chef will be responsible for coaching and guiding the kitchen team, leading line ups, and supporting kitchen operations during service to ensure high standards are consistently met.
In addition to service duties, the Sous Chef will engage in multiple managerial responsibilities such as attending weekly management meetings, overseeing financial aspects, scheduling staff, and fostering a healthy and dynamic team culture. Collaboration and communication are paramount, particularly with the dining room and private events teams, to deliver a seamless and elevated dining experience. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand or walk continuously, frequently bend or climb stairs, and occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds.
