The role of Pastry Chef at T&T Supermarket is a critical position within the Bakery Department. Reporting directly to the Bakery Department Manager, the Pastry Chef will be responsible for managing the overall production of all bakery products including bread, cakes, and various pastries. This role demands precision, creativity, and leadership in overseeing the planning, preparation, and execution of all bakery items produced and sold at the store. The Pastry Chef orchestrates the preparation of ingredients such as doughs, batters, icings, and frostings in accordance with standard operating procedures or specific customer orders. The position requires ensuring consistent product quality, adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and maintenance of bakery equipment.

As a key leader inside the bakery team, the Pastry Chef is expected to not only supervise daily bakery production activities but also lead and mentor bakery staff by allocating tasks efficiently, scheduling appropriately, and providing ongoing training and feedback. The role calls for collaboration, innovation, and the willingness to engage in new product development initiatives to keep T&T’s bakery offerings competitive and exciting. Job Duties

  • Oversee the production of all bakery products including bread, cakes, and pastries ensuring consistent quality and adherence to company standards
  • Plan and manage ingredient preparation including doughs, batters, icings, and frostings for both standard and custom orders
  • Supervise the baking process and ensure accurate execution of all production steps from mixing to finishing
  • Monitor product quality, control inventory and waste, and ensure timely replenishment of ingredients
  • Lead and support the Bakery Production team with fair task allocation, proper scheduling, and daily guidance
  • Provide training, hands-on demonstrations, and constructive feedback to promote staff development and performance
  • Participate in new product development and encourage team involvement in innovation
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and equipment upkeep while ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards
  • Support the overall bakery operation, respond to customer inquiries, and lead by example to foster teamwork and strong working relationships
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the department
