Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Several years of experience working in a bakery or pastry kitchen
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry presentation
  • Ability to lead and coach a team
  • Familiarity with sanitation standards and food safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Creative flair for developing new baked goods
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Monitor and maintain quality of all product and presentation
  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of pastry production areas
  • Receive, check and properly store all incoming product
  • Know and comply with all sanitation standards
  • Schedule pastry and bread production based on business needs and communicate to staff
  • Prepare reports as needed including payroll and scheduling
  • Review vendor pricing structures and adjust product as needed
  • Operate, teach and supervise safe operation of all appliances and equipment
  • Handle conflict resolution of guests and staff as needed
