Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3-5 years experience as a pastry chef or similar role
  • experience supervising a culinary team
  • hands-on experience with scratch baking
  • excellent leadership and communication skills
  • ability to work 50 hours over a 5-day week
  • bread and starter experience preferred
  • ability to maintain high quality and presentation standards

Job Qualifications

  • proven supervisory experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen
  • extensive knowledge of pastry and baking techniques
  • experience in scratch baking and dessert production
  • skilled in making specialty items such as macarons, wedding cakes, and tiramisu
  • ability to manage a team effectively
  • creativity in recipe development
  • knowledge of food safety standards

Job Duties

  • oversee production of all scratch-made cakes and desserts
  • supervise bakery staff and manage daily operations
  • ensure quality control and consistency of all bakery products
  • develop and maintain specialty items including fruit tarts, macarons, wedding cakes, muffins, cookies, tiramisu, cannoli, quiche, cheesecakes, brownies, sfogliatelle, and mousse
  • coordinate inventory and ingredient ordering
  • maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • assist in recipe development and menu innovation
