The role of Pastry and Bakery Chef at this gourmet market presents an exciting opportunity for a talented and hands-on professional to lead and oversee the production of all scratch-made cakes and desserts. This position demands strong supervisory experience to manage and inspire a skilled bakery team ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and taste of all products. This is a full-time employment opportunity, offering a five-day workweek totaling 50 hours, with Sundays and Mondays as regular days off, providing a balanced and manageable work schedule. The salary range for this role is competitive, between $70,000 and $75,000 plus, accompanied by valuable healthcare benefits, making it an attractive offer for qualified candidates. The responsibilities include managing an extensive array of specialty bakery items, such as fruit tarts, Italian macarons, wedding cakes, muffins, cookies, tiramisu, cannolis, quiches, cheesecakes, brownies, sfogliatelle, mousse, and other specialty desserts. Bread and starter experience would be considered a distinct advantage, enhancing the candidate’s ability to contribute creatively and operationally to the bakery’s offerings. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 3-5 years experience as a pastry chef or similar role
  • experience supervising a culinary team
  • hands-on experience with scratch baking
  • excellent leadership and communication skills
  • ability to work 50 hours over a 5-day week
  • bread and starter experience preferred
  • ability to maintain high quality and presentation standards
