The hotel boasts 210 casually elegant rooms and suites, each thoughtfully designed to offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. As part of the Noble House Hotels and Resorts family, Estancia La Jolla is committed to providing an unforgettable hospitality experience, combining tradition with contemporary amenities and personalized service.
The role of Pastry Chef at Estancia La Jolla is a vital position within the esteemed culinary team, responsible for the creation and preparation of an array of exceptional pastry items. These include pastries, breads, desserts, ice creams, sorbets, mousses, custards, and cakes crafted not only for daily restaurant operations but also for banquets and special events. With a focus on delivering high-quality, consistent products to guests, the Pastry Chef plays a key part in maintaining the hotel’s reputation for excellence. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of $28.00 per hour, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
Success in this position requires more than culinary skill; it demands a genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to fostering memorable guest experiences. The successful candidate will be an amazing people connector, thriving in environments that require creative problem-solving and teamwork. Patience, empathy, and a strong desire to provide excellent service are essential qualities for this role. The hotel culture supports and nurtures these values, epitomized by its recognition as a TOP Workplace in San Diego from 2022 to 2025 and TOP Workplace USA from 2023 to 2025, reflecting a supportive, inclusive environment where team members are valued and empowered.
At Estancia La Jolla, the culture encourages collaboration, innovation, and fun, making it an ideal workplace for passionate hospitality professionals. Team members are part of a family-oriented community that prioritizes respect, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. This inclusive mindset is fostered through an active hotel committee and ongoing initiatives to bring diverse perspectives to the forefront, ensuring that all voices are heard.
The Pastry Chef role is instrumental in upholding this culture by leading with a positive attitude and professional demeanor while delivering exceptional culinary products. The position requires working various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational needs, and physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods. Training and development opportunities are provided to support ongoing growth and success within the team.
Joining Estancia La Jolla means becoming part of a respected hospitality institution that values its team members and offers a wealth of benefits including competitive pay, comprehensive health insurance options, hotel and restaurant discounts within the Noble House Hotels & Resorts portfolio, a matching 401k plan after one year of service, on-demand pay, paid time off, complimentary parking, and meals.
