The Americano is currently seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to lead its pastry program and uphold the restaurant's high standards of excellence. This full-time role reports directly to the Executive Chef and is pivotal in shaping the dessert experience for guests. The ideal candidate will possess refined technical skills, an artistic eye for presentation, and a deep understanding of both classic and contemporary desserts. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for developing and executing all pastry and dessert offerings, including à la carte service, events, and special features. They will oversee daily production of breads, desserts, and plated components, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to health and safety standards.

In addition to culinary expertise, the Pastry Chef will manage and mentor pastry cooks and support staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. This role involves close collaboration with the Executive Chef and other culinary and service team members to create seasonal dessert menus that reflect The Americano's modern Italian concept while innovating and elevating pastry techniques and presentation styles. Inventory management, ordering, and cost control are also critical aspects, aligning with budgetary goals and cost of goods sold (COGs) targets. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional pastry experience in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or bakery setting
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills with the ability to train and inspire a team
  • Strong understanding of pastry fundamentals, including laminated doughs, custards, mousses, and chocolate work
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills
  • ServSafe or equivalent food handler certification
  • A passion for hospitality, artistry, and continuous improvement

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry station in compliance with health and safety standards
  • Train, manage, and mentor pastry cooks and support staff to ensure consistency and quality
  • Develop seasonal dessert menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef, reflecting The Americano’s modern Italian-inspired concept
  • Manage pastry inventory, ordering, and cost control to align with budget and COGs goals
  • Collaborate with the culinary and service teams to ensure seamless execution of plated desserts and specialty presentations
  • Innovate and elevate pastry techniques, presentation styles, and guest experience through creativity and attention to detail
