Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in pastry production or baking
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods
  • Ability to manage and train staff effectively
  • Knowledge of safe operation of kitchen equipment
  • Understanding of inventory and cost control practices

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation
  • Creativity and innovation in developing new products
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations

Job Duties

  • Monitor and maintain quality of all product and presentation
  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of pastry production areas
  • Receive, check and properly store all incoming product
  • Know and comply with all sanitation standards
  • Schedule pastry and bread production based on business needs and communicate to staff
  • Prepare reports as needed - including payroll and scheduling
  • Review vendor pricing structures and adjust product as needed
  • Operate, teach and supervise safe operation of all appliances and equipment
  • Handle conflict resolution of guests and staff as needed
