Job Description

Patterson Kitchen + Bar, situated within the beautiful Hotel Hartness, is a distinguished dining establishment known in the hospitality industry for its commitment to culinary excellence and refined guest experiences. As part of Hay Creek Hotels, the venue exemplifies a sophisticated approach to food and beverage service, blending a polished atmosphere with an innovative kitchen culture. The establishment is currently undergoing a transformative phase, reinvigorating its kitchen operations under the new leadership of Executive Chef Curtis Hillard, also affectionately known in the culinary community as Chef Bear. This reformation aims to elevate Patterson Kitchen + Bar to new heights, setting a fresh standard for quality, discipline, and teamwork in the culinary arts.

The Executive Chef is spearheading the rebuilding of the kitchen brigade with intention and precision, emphasizing a merit-based, performance-driven system. The kitchen operates under a true brigade system, ensuring structured progression from entry-level positions such as Cook 1 through to Sous Chef. This hierarchical model not only promotes accountability and cross-training but also fosters a culture of professional growth and skill development. Roles currently being filled range from Sous Chef and Pastry Chef to Lead Line Cooks, Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers. Each role plays a vital part in the kitchen’s operation and success.

Patterson Kitchen + Bar values individuals who are motivated by craft and performance rather than simply clocking hours. The culture thrives on discipline, pride in culinary arts, and the ambition to excel. It is a demanding but rewarding environment where culinary professionals can sharpen their skills, receive mentorship, and be part of a committed team building something lasting and impactful. Compensation aligns with demonstrated skill and responsibility, ensuring that career advancement is earned through practical evaluation, knowledge, and consistent performance rather than longevity alone.

In addition to kitchen roles, the hotel is seeking dedicated front-of-house management professionals interested in serving, bartending, or hospitality leadership positions. This expansion reflects the establishment's holistic approach to enhancing the entire guest experience, both behind the scenes and front of the house. Candidates interested in joining this dynamic and evolving team are encouraged to apply via the Hotel Hartness website or directly reach out to Executive Chef Curtis Hillard via email.

This opportunity is ideal for culinary and hospitality professionals who embrace challenge, seek continuous improvement, and desire to be part of a high-performance kitchen designed to set industry standards. Job shifts include first shift, second shift, and weekend work, covering all seven days of the week, offering flexibility for various schedules. Competitive compensation is offered based on experience, making this an attractive employment opportunity within the vibrant and growing hospitality market.

At Patterson Kitchen + Bar, you will not only be cooking; you will be part of a disciplined, evolving culinary brigade that values growth, accountability, and mastery of craft. The team is driven by performance, where dedication and skill pave the way for success. This is a place for professionals who are serious about their culinary careers and ready to contribute to a restaurant that is redefining its identity with ambition and purpose.
