Job Requirements

  • Must have and maintain an active Servsafe Food Handlers Card as required by the Chicago Health Department
  • ability to lift 10-50 pounds
  • specific vision abilities including close vision
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and maintain balance
  • authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • culinary or baking degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years experience in a high volume from scratch bakery or operation
  • excellent baking skills
  • knowledge of international desserts
  • knowledge of safety and sanitation in the workplace
  • excellent multi-tasking skills
  • excellent customer service skills
  • professional appearance
  • strong attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Responsible for daily and weekly pastry or dessert production
  • supervise a small team
  • write and research international pastry recipes or menus
  • set up station according to kitchen guidelines
  • prepare all food items directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • prepare food items consistently by adhering to all recipe standards
  • maintain a safe working environment by using food handling skills and proper food safety guidelines
