Job Requirements
- Must have and maintain an active Servsafe Food Handlers Card as required by the Chicago Health Department
- ability to lift 10-50 pounds
- specific vision abilities including close vision
- ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and maintain balance
- authorized to work in the U.S.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- culinary or baking degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years experience in a high volume from scratch bakery or operation
- excellent baking skills
- knowledge of international desserts
- knowledge of safety and sanitation in the workplace
- excellent multi-tasking skills
- excellent customer service skills
- professional appearance
- strong attention to detail
Job Duties
- Responsible for daily and weekly pastry or dessert production
- supervise a small team
- write and research international pastry recipes or menus
- set up station according to kitchen guidelines
- prepare all food items directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- prepare food items consistently by adhering to all recipe standards
- maintain a safe working environment by using food handling skills and proper food safety guidelines
