The company is known as the premier destination for crafting, creating, and celebrating, catering to a broad community of creative enthusiasts ranging from beginners to professionals. Michaels also owns Artistree, a manufacturer of custom and specialty framing merchandise, further enhancing its product offerings and positioning in the craft retail market.

The company places a great emphasis on providing robust benefits and supportive work environments for both full-time and part-time employees. These benefits include health insurance options—covering medical, dental, and vision—paid time off, tuition assistance programs, generous employee discounts, and extensive opportunities for personal and professional growth. Michaels maintains a firm commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion, ensuring all employees and customers feel welcomed and valued.

The role of Event Coordinator at the Michaels store in Stonecrest, North Carolina, is a dynamic and engaging position designed to enrich customer experiences through thoughtfully organized events. This role is central to creating memorable moments, specifically focusing on planning and executing children’s birthday parties and other craft-based classes and events. The Event Coordinator’s responsibility is to provide a stress-free, fun, and interactive environment for guests of all ages—from young children to seniors—ensuring these activities foster creativity and enjoyment.

In addition to event planning and execution, the Event Coordinator will deliver outstanding customer service by assisting shoppers with product location, offering craft project guidance, and maintaining a smooth, friendly checkout experience. This role also involves operational tasks such as helping with truck unloading, merchandise organization, and upholding the store’s recovery and presentation standards. The Coordinator is expected to manage the administrative aspects of events—including communication with clients, managing paperwork and calls, and adjusting plans based on client feedback—to ensure client satisfaction and smooth event flow.

The position requires a balance of creativity, interpersonal skills, and practical retail knowledge. The Event Coordinator serves as an ambassador for the company’s brand promises by ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and exceptional customer interactions. This includes promoting the Rewards program and private label credit cards, supporting omni-channel processes like Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS), and adhering to safety and operational protocols. Cross-training in custom framing selling and production is also part of this role, adding to the variety and depth of tasks handled.

Attention to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards before, during, and after events is essential. Michaels embraces a commitment to accommodate employees who require assistance to perform these essential job functions.
