This role is situated in the Michaels store located in Gilroy, CA, and operates on a part-time basis with an hourly pay range of $17.25 to $20.30. The position centers on planning, coordinating, and facilitating engaging events within the store, including children's birthday parties and various craft classes. As an Event Coordinator within the store team, you will create a welcoming, fun, and creative environment for guests of all ages, ranging from young children to seniors. Your responsibilities will include detailed event preparation, client interaction, and the successful execution of party activities such as crafts, face painting, and decorations. You will also manage operational tasks like merchandise stocking, assisting customers with product selection, and delivering a fast, friendly checkout experience. The role demands strong organizational and communication skills, an energetic and enthusiastic personality, experience with children’s events, and the ability to maintain store recovery standards and company safety guidelines. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Retail or customer service experience
- Experience working with children
- Strong communication skills

- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching
- Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves with ladder

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events
- Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects and perform face painting
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards
- Communicate events with clients and store team members
- Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork
- Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs
- Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events
- Uphold company’s cleanliness and safety standards and set up, break down, and clean before and after each event
- Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions
- Provide fast and friendly checkout experience
- Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments
- Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
- Assist with Omni channel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
- Participate in truck unload, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance
- Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties
- Support shrink and safety programs
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs ensuring compliance
- Interact respectfully and positively with others and promote organizational vision and values
- Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production
- Maintain daily store cleanliness including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom upkeep
- Perform other duties as assigned
