This role is based in the Michaels store located in Knightdale, NC, and involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating in-store events, including children's birthday parties and various craft classes. The position requires delivering friendly customer service by helping customers shop and find products, ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience, and maintaining store operational standards such as stocking, merchandise recovery, and unpacking shipments. The primary focus is on providing guests a stress-free, enjoyable, and engaging experience during events while supporting overall store excellence.

In the event coordination aspect, the candidate will manage multiple events simultaneously, working with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment. Responsibilities include demonstrating craft projects, face painting, and implementing extra party features like goody bags and balloons to company standards. The role also requires administrative duties such as handling client communications, scheduling, and event adjustments based on customer feedback. Ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining the store’s cleanliness and safety before, during, and after events are critical components of the job.

The customer experience responsibilities involve assisting customers in finding products, providing solutions, and educating them about the benefits of Michaels’ Rewards program and private label credit cards. The candidate will also facilitate the Voice of Customer surveys, support omni-channel services like Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS), and participate in inventory management including unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and planogram compliance. Upholding store policies, safety protocols, and company standards is essential while promoting a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for guests and coworkers alike.

Ideal candidates will be energetic with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Experience in retail or customer service is required, and prior involvement with children’s events is highly preferred. The physical demands require standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, bending, and moving throughout the store environment. This role occasionally demands working nights, weekends, and early mornings, as well as performing tasks in climate-controlled as well as stockroom and outdoor areas.
