Job Description

The Salvation Army is a globally recognized evangelical part of the universal Christian Church, dedicated to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and addressing human needs without discrimination. One of its prominent community outreach centers is the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, also known as Kroc Center Hawaii. This center serves as a vibrant hub where families, individuals, and relationships thrive, reflecting the mission and values of The Salvation Army through various programs and activities. Situated in Hawaii, the Kroc Center offers a diverse range of community services, recreational activities, and event spaces that foster connection and growth within the community. Operating under the fundamental vision of supporting spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being, the center exemplifies a welcoming environment committed to improving quality of life and strengthening community ties.

The Party Host Lead role at Kroc Center Hawaii is a part-time, hourly position offering $15.00 per hour and reporting directly to the Senior Sales and Events Manager. This role is integral to the center’s event operations, specifically overseeing all Cabana and Party Host events. The lead is primarily responsible for managing the entire party experience, beginning with client inquiries and continuing through event execution. This includes coordinating children's birthday parties and other celebrations in various venues throughout the Kroc Center. The Party Host Lead supervises the party host staff to ensure that every celebration is memorable and engaging, reflecting the center’s commitment to exceptional guest service.

The individual in this role must possess a strong ability to multitask, maintain organization in a fast-paced setting, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Responsibilities include managing event contracts, coordinating setup and teardown logistics, ensuring guest satisfaction, and responding promptly and professionally to party-related requests. Safety supervision of party areas is a key component, along with being a visible, approachable presence for guests. The lead also assists with serving food and beverages, inventory management, and ensuring the overall readiness and cleanliness of party spaces.

Beyond operational duties, this position demands a candidate deeply committed to The Salvation Army’s mission, promoting spiritual and physical regeneration while representing the Kroc Center positively in the community. The role requires weekend and evening availability, reflecting the nature of event scheduling. This position also embraces a strong communication component, requiring collaboration with clients, vendors, and team members through various methods, including email, telephone, and in-person interactions.

The Party Host Lead must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or GED. Preferred qualifications include experience in customer service, food service, and childcare, ensuring a readiness to interact warmly with children and families. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and carry trays, set up party equipment, and maintain high energy throughout shifts. The work environment primarily includes indoor and outdoor settings at the Kroc Center facilities.

This opportunity extends beyond a mere job; it offers a chance to be part of a meaningful mission that impacts lives positively every day. The Salvation Army prioritizes inclusivity, offering an equal opportunity employment environment for minorities, women, protected veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply online, joining a reputable organization where work is grounded in faith, community service, and a dedication to fostering joyous and successful celebrations for all attendees.
