This role is based at one of the Michaels stores located in Wichita-Maize Rd, KS, and is centered around planning, coordinating, and facilitating events, including children’s birthday parties and other crafting sessions. The Event Coordinator position is designed to create a fun, stress-free, and engaging experience for guests of all ages by delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth event operations. Responsibilities include instructing participants on craft projects, organizing additional party elements such as goody bags and balloons, and maintaining communication with clients and store teams. The role requires multi-tasking and managing several events simultaneously while also performing operational duties such as unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store presentation standards.

Successful candidates should possess energetic and enthusiastic personalities, excellent people skills, and experience working with children and organizing children’s events. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential to ensure high client satisfaction and effective team collaboration. The position requires standing for long periods, moving throughout the store, handling physical tasks such as lifting and reaching, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
