This particular job opportunity is for a part-time position within the Michaels store located in Oceanside, California, where the focus is on planning, coordinating, and facilitating various events, including children's birthday parties. The core responsibilities of this role revolve around the successful execution of creative events within the store designed to offer a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. The event coordinator plans and manages multiple events simultaneously, ranging from kids’ birthday parties to various craft classes. They are responsible for communicating effectively with clients and store team members to ensure smooth execution and high client satisfaction. This includes handling administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, completing paperwork, and adjusting event plans based on client needs and feedback.

The event coordinator also plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service by assisting customers in shopping, locating products, and providing solutions to their craft-related needs. Additionally, they ensure a fast and friendly checkout experience, participate in the store’s operational processes such as truck unloading, merchandise stocking, planogram implementation, and maintaining overall store cleanliness and safety standards. The role is dynamic and requires standing for extended periods, moving throughout the store, and occasional lifting of heavy boxes or accessing high shelves.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a public retail setting that is predominantly climate controlled, with some stock rooms and outdoor activities related to retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks.
