At the Simpsonville, SC location, Michaels is seeking a part-time Event Coordinator and Customer Service Associate who will play an integral role in elevating the customer experience through seamless event planning and excellent in-store service. The Event Coordinator is tasked with managing multiple simultaneous events, catering to a diverse clientele ranging from young children to seniors. In addition, they will demonstrate craft project techniques, conduct face painting, facilitate party enhancements such as goody bags and balloons, and maintain organized communication with clients and team members alike.

Beyond event coordination, the role encompasses delivering outstanding customer service, helping visitors locate products, explaining the benefits of loyalty programs and credit card enrollments, and ensuring a swift, friendly checkout process. The Associate will also support broader store operations including receiving and stocking merchandise, executing planogram directives, and maintaining inventory standards. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and craft classes
  • Engage clients of all ages by creating a fun and creative environment
  • Demonstrate and instruct craft projects and perform face painting
  • Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards
  • Communicate events with clients and store team members
  • Complete administrative tasks like answering emails, phone calls, and paperwork
  • Adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs
  • Create and execute backup or emergency plans
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events
  • Uphold company cleanliness and safety standards by setting up, breaking down, and cleaning events
  • Help customers shop and locate products
  • Provide fast and friendly checkout experience
  • Promote and enroll customers in Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards
  • Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
  • Assist with Omni channel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
  • Participate in truck unload, stocking, and planogram processes
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance
  • Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and ad set duties
  • Support shrink and safety programs
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies
  • Maintain positive interactions and project a professional image
  • Cross train in Custom Framing selling and production
  • Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including sweeping, vacuuming, and dusting
  • Perform other duties as assigned
