This position is based at the Michaels store in Harvey, Louisiana, and involves a dynamic blend of customer service, operational tasks, and event coordination. The role centers around planning, coordinating, and facilitating in-store events, notably children’s birthday parties and various craft classes, designed to create memorable, engaging, and stress-free experiences for guests of all ages. The successful candidate will embody enthusiasm and a passion for creativity, ensuring an atmosphere of fun and engagement during these events. Key responsibilities include managing multiple events simultaneously, interacting warmly with attendees from young children to seniors, demonstrating craft projects, facilitating party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons, and handling administrative duties including communication with clients and team members. In addition, the role includes direct customer assistance on the sales floor by helping shoppers find products, explaining the benefits of rewards programs, and providing a swift, friendly checkout experience.

Operationally, this job requires participation in essential store functions such as receiving and unloading merchandise, maintaining merchandising standards, optimizing stock on shelves, and supporting store safety and shrink prevention programs. Team members are expected to adhere strictly to company policies, standard operating procedures, and legal requirements, all while maintaining a positive, respectful demeanor with customers and colleagues alike. Cross-training in areas like Custom Framing allows for an even broader skill set and enhanced support throughout the store. Physical stamina is important given the need for prolonged standing, lifting, bending, and accessing high shelves. The store environment is predominantly climate-controlled, with some stock rooms and outdoor duties. Hours may include early mornings, nights, and weekends.
