This job opportunity at the Petaluma, CA store involves a unique combination of event coordination and customer service roles designed to create memorable experiences within the store. The position primarily focuses on planning, coordinating, and facilitating various events such as children's birthday parties and crafting classes, aiming to deliver a stress-free and engaging environment for guests. An essential aspect of this role is to engage clients of all ages, from young children to seniors, by fostering an atmosphere of fun and creativity. Responsibilities include demonstrating craft projects, providing face painting, managing party add-ons like goody bags and balloons, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction throughout each event. Additionally, this role requires strong organizational skills to handle multiple events simultaneously and the flexibility to adjust plans based on client feedback.
Aside from event coordination, this role also involves delivering exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selection, providing solutions, managing the checkout process efficiently, and promoting the store's Rewards program and credit card enrollments. Operational duties include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise according to planograms, maintaining merchandise recovery standards, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and safety of the store environment. Employees are expected to participate in daily store maintenance tasks and support company safety and shrink prevention programs.
The position requires a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with both guests and coworkers in a positive, respectful manner. Experience working with children and hosting children's events is highly preferred, along with proven abilities in managing retail or customer service environments. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting heavy boxes, and accessing high shelves, all within a climate-controlled retail setting with some exposure to outdoor activities such as retrieving shopping carts or unloading trucks.

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events
- Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects and perform activities such as face painting
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons to company standards

- Complete administrative tasks including answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork
