This role is based in a Michaels store located in Katy and North Texas and is focused on event coordination and customer engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating multiple events, including children’s birthday parties and various craft classes, to create an enjoyable, memorable experience for guests of all ages. This position combines event management with retail customer service, requiring the employee to also assist customers with shopping, provide fast and friendly checkouts, and maintain merchandise standards.
The role demands excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, creativity, and a keen attention to detail to efficiently manage events and store operations. Duties include engaging with clients, instructing craft activities like face painting, managing party add-ons, and ensuring the store environment meets Michael’s cleanliness and safety standards. The candidate will also complete administrative work such as communication with clients and internal teams.
Additionally, this role supports the retail store through operational tasks such as truck unload, merchandising, stock replenishment, adherence to company policies, and customer engagement related to programs like the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards. Candidates should be enthusiastic, energetic, and capable of multitasking in a busy retail environment while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in event coordination or customer service
- Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests and co-workers
- Ability to remain standing for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and reaching
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and early mornings
- Willingness to engage with diverse age groups
- Compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements
- Ability to follow company policies and safety standards

Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes
- Engage clients of all ages by creating a fun and creative environment
- Demonstrate and instruct craft projects and activities like face painting
- Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards
- Communicate event details with clients and store teams
- Complete administrative tasks including emails, phone calls, and paperwork
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards before and after events
- Help customers shop and locate products
- Provide fast and friendly checkout experience
- Promote rewards programs and credit card enrollments
- Assist with Omni channel processes including BOPIS and Ship From Store
- Participate in merchandise management including truck unloads, stocking, and planograms
- Support shrink and safety programs
- Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures
- Interact positively and respectfully with customers and team members
- Participate in store cleanliness activities including sweeping and dusting
- Provide cross-training support in Custom Framing selling and production
- Perform other duties as assigned
