This particular role is based at a Michaels store in Shreveport, Louisiana, focusing on the coordination and facilitation of events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes. The position offers an engaging blend of customer service, event planning, and operational duties, designed to provide a fun and stress-free experience for guests of all ages. This role is ideal for individuals who are energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about arts and crafts, as well as customer interaction. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and managing multiple events simultaneously, ensuring each is tailored to meet client expectations and company standards, including party add-ons like goody bags and balloons. You will interact with a wide range of customers, from young children to senior guests, fostering an environment of creativity and enjoyment.

Additionally, the role involves assisting customers in product selection and checkout, maintaining store recovery standards, and supporting various store operational functions such as unloading trucks, stocking, and planogram maintenance. Candidates must be able to handle physical tasks like lifting and standing for extended periods, as well as adapt to a dynamic retail environment that includes night and weekend shifts. Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events including children’s birthday parties and craft classes
  • engage with clients of all ages creating a fun and creative environment
  • demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities such as face painting
  • facilitate party add-ons including goody bags and balloons
  • communicate event details with clients and store team members
  • complete administrative tasks like answering emails and making phone calls
  • adjust event plans based on client feedback
  • create backup or emergency plans
  • ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards
  • help customers shop and locate products
  • provide fast and friendly checkout experience
  • engage customers on rewards programs and credit card enrollments
  • educate customers on Voice of Customer surveys
  • assist with Omni channel processes such as Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store
  • participate in truck unload, stocking and planogram processes
  • complete merchandise recovery and maintenance
  • perform Store in Stock Optimization and AD set duties
  • support shrink and safety programs
  • follow SOPs and company policies
  • interact respectfully and positively with customers and team members
  • cross train in custom framing selling and production
  • participate in daily store cleanliness activities such as sweeping and dusting
  • perform other duties as assigned
