Established in 1973 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, Michaels operates over 1,300 stores across 49 states and Canada, as well as through its online platforms Michaels.com and Michaels.ca. The company is renowned for its commitment to inspiring creativity and celebration, catering to customers of all ages with an extensive selection of products and services designed to facilitate self-expression and creativity. Michaels also owns Artistree, a prominent manufacturer of custom and specialty framing merchandise, further enhancing its capabilities in the crafting and framing industry. With a strong focus on community, customer service, and inclusivity, Michaels embodies a culture of innovation and dedication to enriching the creative experiences of its customers and team members alike.

The Event Coordinator role at Michaels in Fort Collins, Colorado, offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of this dynamic retail environment by planning, coordinating, and facilitating a wide array of in-store events including children's birthday parties. This full-time role is designed to foster a fun, engaging, and stress-free experience for guests, while ensuring operations run smoothly and all brand promises are fulfilled. The position pays a competitive hourly wage ranging from $15.16 to $17.70, with potential eligibility for overtime compensation as per state and local laws. As an Event Coordinator, you will engage directly with guests of all ages, orchestrating enjoyable event experiences in a welcoming atmosphere that promotes creativity and community connection.

This role combines elements of event management, customer service, and retail operations. You will orchestrate multiple events simultaneously, from planning craft parties and children's celebrations to managing additional activities like face painting and party add-ons, ensuring every detail aligns with Michaels' standards. Your interaction with customers will extend beyond events, assisting with their shopping needs, educating them about store programs like rewards and credit cards, and facilitating seamless checkout experiences. Operational duties include inventory management like unloading trucks and setting up merchandise displays, as well as maintaining cleanliness and safety standards throughout the store.

In addition to events, the role demands excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support a positive shopping environment and contribute to the store’s success. Candidates must demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to handle job-related stress while maintaining professionalism and positivity. The Event Coordinator will also receive cross-training in custom framing sales and production, broadening their expertise and enhancing customer interactions.

Michaels Values inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring all team members have opportunities to thrive and receive reasonable accommodations as needed. The work environment includes typical retail store conditions with some physical demands such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and working both indoors and occasionally outdoors. Team members enjoy a supportive atmosphere with benefits such as a 401(k) with employer match, healthcare options, tuition assistance, employee discounts, and more. Michaels is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive and empowering workplace for all individuals.
