The company also owns Artistree, a manufacturer of custom and specialty framing merchandise, adding to its comprehensive offerings in the creative arts sector. Michaels is not just a store, but a vibrant community hub that encourages creativity through various in-store events and personalized services. Known for its commitment to inclusivity and supportive working culture, Michaels provides competitive pay ranging from $17.50 to $20.60 per hour with possible overtime compensation aligned with applicable laws and offers a variety of benefits tailored to enhance work-life balance for its team members.
This role at the Michaels store in Sea-Gig Harbor, WA, focuses on event coordination and customer experience within the retail environment. The position involves planning and facilitating a variety of events including children's birthday parties and craft classes, aiming to create a fun, stress-free, and engaging atmosphere for guests. The Event Coordinator will directly engage with customers of all ages, from children to seniors, ensuring memorable and creative experiences. Responsibilities include demonstrating craft projects, face painting, and managing party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons, all while maintaining high standards for safety, cleanliness, and company protocols.
In addition to event management, the role demands excellent customer service skills to assist guests with shopping, product location, and a smooth checkout process. The Event Coordinator is also expected to support omni-channel retail initiatives such as Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
Ideal candidates will possess strong communication and organizational skills, an energetic and enthusiastic personality, and experience working with children and public events. The job requires the physical capacity to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive bending, lifting, and reaching, and occasionally use ladders for stock handling. Michaels prioritizes a respectful and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and upholding the company’s vision and values.
