This role is based in the Cedar Park, Texas store and revolves around event coordination and customer service within a retail setting. The position encompasses planning, coordinating, and facilitating events such as children’s birthday parties and other creative classes. The primary goal is to provide customers with a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience while reinforcing the brand promises through excellent operational execution. The events specialist will interact directly with clients ranging from young children to seniors, ensuring an inviting, creative atmosphere energized by enthusiasm and creativity. Responsibilities include demonstrating craft projects, face painting, managing party add-ons, and responding to client feedback to tailor experiences ideally suited to their needs.
Alongside event coordination, this position demands a strong focus on customer service by assisting shoppers in locating products, facilitating quick and friendly checkouts, and promoting company programs like Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards. The person in this role also supports back-of-house functions such as truck unloading, stock replenishment, planogram maintenance, and store cleanliness, ensuring the store remains organized and welcoming. The Michaels team member must uphold safety and company compliance standards, embody professionalism in interpersonal interactions, and serve as a role model for colleagues.

Experience working with children and hosting children’s events is highly desirable. The role requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift and carry merchandise, and perform repetitive movements. The work environment combines climate-controlled public retail space with stockrooms and occasional exposure to outdoor elements while managing tasks such as retrieving shopping carts and unloading trucks. Work schedules may include nights, weekends, and early mornings to accommodate store operations and special events.

Job Duties
