The role of Event Coordinator at the Michaels store located in N. ORL-Magnolia, LA, is a dynamic position designed to deliver a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests participating in creative events at the store. The coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating a variety of events such as children’s birthday parties and craft classes, ensuring these special occasions are engaging, stress-free, and fun. In addition to event coordination, the role includes essential operational tasks such as truck unloading, merchandise duties, maintaining store recovery standards, and supporting overall store upkeep and cleanliness. Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events including children’s birthday parties and craft classes
- Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment
- Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting and other activities
- Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards
- Communicate effectively with clients and store team members
- Complete administrative tasks including answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork
- Adjust event plans based on client feedback and create backup plans
- Ensure client satisfaction and uphold cleanliness and safety standards
- Provide customer assistance in shopping and product location
- Deliver fast and friendly checkout experiences
- Promote Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards enrollments
- Educate customers on Voice of Customer surveys
- Assist with online order processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship From Store
- Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes
- Perform merchandise recovery and store maintenance
- Support shrink and safety programs
