Job Description

Bass Pro Shops is a renowned retail company specializing in outdoor gear and apparel, particularly focusing on hunting, fishing, camping, marine, and related outdoor equipment. Established as a leader in the outdoor retail industry, Bass Pro Shops is known for its commitment to providing exceptional products and services to outdoor enthusiasts. The company operates a vast network of stores and offers a comprehensive range of merchandise including boats, motors, trailers, ATVs, and related parts. With a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and product knowledge, Bass Pro Shops creates an engaging shopping environment for customers ranging from casual hobbyists to professional outdoor adventurers.

The Part Sales role at Bass Pro Shops involves maintaining and controlling inventory of boat, motor, trailer, and ATV parts, while providing excellent assistance and support to both external and internal customers. The position plays a crucial part in supporting the company’s commitment to world-class customer service by ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience. This involves handling customer inquiries about retail parts, price quotes, and general information through various channels such as phone and in-person at the parts counter. The role also requires researching parts queries using Internet resources, manufacturer contacts, and on-site reference materials to provide accurate and timely assistance.

In addition to customer service, the Part Sales associate is responsible for performing parts sales transactions, safeguarding funds, and completing till reconciliation procedures daily. The position includes creating purchase orders to maintain adequate stock levels, receiving and verifying shipments, data entry into the inventory tracking system, and ensuring proper storage of merchandise for easy retrieval. Part of the job is also to validate payments before shipping special order parts, issue parts to technicians according to work orders, and manage refund transactions for returned or cancelled items.

The role demands attention to detail in maintaining parts inventory, conducting scheduled inventories, reporting shortages or variances, and ensuring warranty and returned parts are handled correctly to obtain vendor credit. A clean and professional work area is maintained at all times. This role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform duties under general supervision with occasional independent judgment to resolve issues and improve work processes.

The starting pay rate for this full-time position ranges from $21.00 to $24.71 per hour, and the company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision coverage, health savings and flexible spending accounts, voluntary benefits, 401k retirement savings, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and exclusive discounts on retail merchandise, restaurants, resorts, and conservation attractions.

Bass Pro Shops is committed to diversity and equal opportunity employment, ensuring hiring decisions are made without discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. Reasonable accommodations are available to qualified individuals with disabilities throughout the application process.
