The Role
The Events Partner role within Andreessen Horowitz’s New Media team is a senior-level position tasked with managing the firm’s thought leadership events. New Media serves as the firm’s essential platform for disseminating influential ideas in technology, policy, and culture. Events play a crucial role in deepening relationships, showcasing innovative concepts, and extending the firm’s brand reach. This role demands a dynamic professional who excels at both high-level strategic planning and meticulous logistical execution. The Events Partner will be responsible for designing and leading a diverse portfolio of experiences that vary from small, intimate community dinners to extensive multi-day summits and leadership retreats. Each event is treated as a unique opportunity to innovate, ensuring high-impact moments that echo the firm’s prestige and influence.
This position requires an individual with exceptional competence in managing complex events, negotiating with vendors, handling contracts, and overseeing on-site production for both in-person and virtual formats. Close collaboration with senior executives, general partners, and key external figures will be essential to curate experiences that authentically represent the firm’s brand and foster its key relationships. The Events Partner will also spearhead event communications campaigns, manage calendars, track attendee engagement, and utilize data to continually refine strategy and increase event impact.
Further responsibilities include producing detailed post-event analyses covering budget reconciliation, attendee feedback, and return on investment to inform future program improvements. Collaboration with editorial, communications, and design teams is also critical to ensure integrated marketing efforts and branded collateral that enhance the overall outreach. Located preferably in the San Francisco Bay Area, with consideration for New York City candidates, this role entails occasional in-office presence and travel up to 30-40% of the time.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $221,000 to $258,000, with compensation varying based on experience and skill set. Job Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in event management
- poise, influence, and discretion working directly with senior executives and partners
- strong operational instincts managing vendors, contracts, and logistics
- proficiency with CRM and event tools
- excellent communication skills

- comfortable with ambiguity and able to translate goals into plans
- willingness to travel up to 30-40% of the time

Job Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in event management, poise and discretion working with senior executives and partners, strong operational instincts, proficiency with CRM and event tools such as Salesforce and Marketo, excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with community building and network engagement, ability to work comfortably with ambiguity, low ego and high empathy
Job Duties
