Job Description

Foley Family Wines & Spirits is a renowned winery and wine producer with a rich history dating back to 1996, when Bill and Carol Foley acquired 1,000 acres in the then relatively unknown Sta. Rita Hills region of Santa Barbara County. Their vision was to craft premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines that capture the essence of California's Central Coast. Named after their daughters Lindsey and Courtney, Lincourt Vineyards marked the beginning of what has grown into Foley Family Wines & Spirits. Over the past 25 years, Foley Family Wines & Spirits has expanded impressively to become one of the world's largest fine wine producers. The company boasts an extensive portfolio featuring some of the industry's most coveted wineries located in prestigious wine regions such as Napa Valley, Sonoma County, the Pacific Northwest, and New Zealand. Notable brands under Foley Family Wines & Spirits include Chalk Hill Estate, Chalone, Ferrari-Carano, and Sebastiani, all celebrated for their quality and heritage.

The Hospitality Center Wine Educator role at Foley Family Wines & Spirits is a dynamic part-time position designed to drive sales growth through enriching customer interactions and exceptional hospitality. This role focuses on engaging guests at the hospitality center by delivering memorable wine experiences that educate and inspire. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, charismatic, and genuinely passionate about wine, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a lively, guest-facing environment. The role entails greeting visitors, sharing the story of the brand, conducting wine tastings, discussing wine club benefits, and converting guests to wine club memberships. Additionally, the Wine Educator will assist in daily operational tasks such as restocking, cleaning, and handling sales transactions accurately using the point of sale system. The person must also be adept at booking guest and member experiences, supporting special hospitality events, and maintaining a deep knowledge of the winery’s portfolio to effectively communicate the qualities and origins of the wines.

Working at Foley Family Wines & Spirits not only offers an opportunity to be part of a globally recognized wine family but also encourages employees to align with core values such as teamwork, commitment, quality, integrity, safety, entrepreneurship, and having fun in their work. The company prioritizes providing a respectful and inclusive environment, embracing diversity, and ensuring equal employment opportunities for all candidates. This role requires the ability to work weekends and presents a unique environment with moderate noise, high guest traffic, and importance on sensitivity to scents that could impact the wine tasting experience. Compensation for this hospitality position ranges from $24 to $26 per hour, reflecting the level of professionalism and dedication expected. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about wine, hospitality, and delivering top-tier customer experiences while supporting the legacy and growth of a world-class wine enterprise.
