The Maintenance Technician role at Freedom Square of Seminole is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about serving others and maintaining a well-run living environment. The Maintenance Tech is a vital member of the Plant Operations team and is responsible for the overall upkeep of residential apartments and public areas within the community. This position requires a dedicated professional who can efficiently perform routine and emergency maintenance repairs. Key responsibilities involve correcting electrical malfunctions, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures, pipes, and fittings, and fixing doors, locks, and lighting fixtures. The Maintenance Tech will also assist in troubleshooting HVAC equipment, handling simple repairs, and performing resets as needed. A key aspect of the role is to complete all work orders promptly while documenting detailed information about the tasks performed and any equipment involved. This position requires clear and effective communication skills to interact respectfully and efficiently with residents and staff alike. The Maintenance Tech also provides support to the Supervisor and Director of Plant Operations to ensure smooth and efficient community operations. This role is ideal for candidates with 1 to 2 years of maintenance experience in residential apartment complexes, commercial building construction, or maintenance. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, flooring, appliances, and HVAC is essential. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of relevant maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances
  • Basic HVAC knowledge
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to follow safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of maintenance experience in a residential apartment complex, commercial building construction or maintenance
  • Working knowledge of residential building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, flooring and appliances
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Effective communication skills with residents and staff
  • Ability to complete work orders accurately and timely
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Performs routine and emergency repairs in residential apartments and public areas including electrical, plumbing, lighting, doors and locks
  • Assists in providing initial response for malfunction of residential HVAC equipment performing resets and simple repairs
  • Completes all work orders in a timely manner with detailed task and equipment information
  • Performs additional duties as requested by Supervisor and Director of Plant Operations
  • Communicates effectively with residents and staff
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment
  • Supports community operations to ensure efficient service delivery
