Job Description
Atlantic Shores Cooperative Association is a distinguished continuing care retirement community located in Virginia Beach, dedicated to providing an exceptional living experience for residents aged 55 and up. Known for its commitment to promoting active lifestyles, freedom, dignity, wellness, independence, and security, Atlantic Shores has built a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere that makes it a preferred place for seniors to live and for professionals to work. With an emphasis on creating a culture of trust, leadership growth, service to others, and loyalty, the community takes pride in maintaining an environment that values compassion and respect for all residents and staff alike.
The Dining Services team at Atlantic Shores is currently seeking dedicated Waitstaff members to join their organized and friendly team. This role is an ideal entry-level opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about providing excellent dining experiences without the toll of late-night shifts. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $15.50 to $18.60, based on experience, with part-time hours primarily during evenings and weekends, and the potential for full-time advancement. Typical shifts run from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM or 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
As an Atlantic Shores Waitstaff member, you will play a vital role in ensuring that residents enjoy a professional, efficient, and welcoming dining experience. The role demands a calm and friendly demeanor as you greet residents, take orders accurately, and process them through the Point of Sale system, all while adhering to the community's high standards of service and hospitality. Teamwork is at the core of this position, as you collaborate closely with dining and kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized dining environment and uphold stringent sanitation and safety protocols. This role is perfect for individuals with a positive attitude who enjoy working collaboratively and who have basic communication and organizational skills.
Atlantic Shores further enhances the work experience by providing additional compensation options and a robust benefits package. Hourly employees receive 1.5 times holiday pay and overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a week, while full-time staff benefit from generous paid time off, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans, short and long-term disability, supplemental accident, cancer, critical illness coverage, and legal assistance services including identity theft protection. Moreover, the association supports continuing education by offering tuition reimbursement of up to $5,250 annually for qualifying coursework and provides discounts through partnerships with several universities. Other perks include a 401k plan with company matching, an employee referral bonus program, employee recognition awards, and an employee assistance program to support well-being.
Joining Atlantic Shores means becoming part of a community that deeply values hospitality, as reflected in their core hospitality promises that emphasize warmth, respect, responsiveness, accountability, professionalism, and inclusivity. Employees are encouraged to embrace these values to ensure that both residents and coworkers have positive, meaningful interactions. The organization’s wellness focus promotes a holistic approach to health, covering emotional, environmental, intellectual, physical, social, spiritual, and vocational well-being to support not just residents but also employees in leading balanced and fulfilling lives. For individuals passionate about making a difference and seeking a workplace where kindness and teamwork are paramount, Atlantic Shores offers a rewarding career path with significant opportunities for personal and professional growth.
