The Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist (Care Coordinator) role at Animal Hospital of Clemmons is vital to the hospital's operations and client experience. This position is responsible for a wide range of administrative and customer service tasks that support the hospital’s daily workflow and enhance client interactions. The Care Coordinator acts as a critical first point of contact for pet owners entering the hospital, managing lobby flow, scheduling appointments, and providing valuable information about medical services and products. The role demands excellent communication skills and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure, including calming distressed owners and managing basic medical emergencies relating to pets and clients. Additionally, the Care Coordinator supports billing and accounts management by inputting and updating data in practice management software, helping to ensure the financial accuracy of transactions through cash drawer reconciliation and end-of-day duties. Beyond administrative and customer service responsibilities, the position also assists with retail sales and the handling of medication inquiries and pickups.
This part-time role operates on a schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and a rotating Saturday shift, offering a consistent but flexible work-life balance for team members. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
- Must have 2 or more years of experience in veterinary medicine
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly
- Availability to work Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and rotating Saturdays
- Basic proficiency with computers and data entry
- Ability to manage financial transactions accurately
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
- Two or more years of experience in veterinary medicine
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
- Familiarity with practice management software
- Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Job Duties
- Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations
