Job Description

Gordon Food Service Store LLC is the retail division of Gordon Food Service, one of the largest foodservice distributors in North America. Operating over 170 stores primarily in the United States and Canada, Gordon Food Service Store caters to a wide customer base that includes small foodservice operators, families, non-profit organizations, caterers, and more. The company stands out for its dedication to delivering exceptional customer service, with a strong emphasis on creating a "Customer is King" environment. Gordon Food Service offers a dynamic retail experience characterized by a fast-paced environment, while promoting a healthy work-life balance for its employees. The company's core values emphasize respect, dignity, and equal opportunity, ensuring an inclusive workplace for all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, or disability.

The position available at the Fort Collins, Colorado location—specifically at 110 West Troutman Parkway—is for a Van Delivery Driver at the newly opened Gordon Restaurant Market. This role offers competitive pay ranging from $16.52 to $21 per hour, dependent on experience. It requires availability from Friday through Monday. One of the company's standout benefits is the guaranteed holidays off, as the company is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Easter, enabling employees valuable time to spend with family and friends.

As a Van Delivery Driver, your main responsibility is to ensure timely, courteous, and accurate delivery of products to various customers along a variable daily route. This role demands professionalism, safe driving practices, and attention to detail. Besides delivery duties, you will support store operations before and after your route, helping to maintain smooth workflow and high standards of customer service. You will also play a pivotal role in building and nurturing positive relationships with customers, reflecting the company’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations.

Daily tasks involve both delivery and in-store functions. On delivery days, you will take charge of accurately picking orders for wholesale customers inside the store, conducting thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and maintaining the safety and quality of delivered goods. In-store responsibilities include managing point-of-sale transactions with accuracy and following strict asset security policies. You will help with stocking and merchandising to ensure products are rotated correctly, displayed appealingly, and stored appropriately in coolers, freezers, and backrooms.

The position requires candidates to have at least one year of previous delivery driving experience along with customer service experience or a related background. An unrestricted standard operator's license and a clean driving record—with no drug or alcohol offenses in the past five years—are mandatory. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and pass comprehensive pre-employment checks, including drug screening, criminal background checks, and motor vehicle reports. Physical requirements include the ability to operate a two-wheel cart loaded with up to 350 pounds and the capability to lift weights of up to 70 pounds.

Gordon Food Service’s culture places high value on internal advancement, offering numerous development programs designed to promote employee growth and career progression within the company. Benefits provided to employees include profit sharing, a 401(k) plan, employee assistance programs, 24/7 mental health support via ComPsych, employee discounts of 10% on purchases, Beneplace discount programs, and eligibility for affordable health insurance including prescription, dental, and vision coverage. Additional perks consist of short and long-term disability insurance, paid time off and flexible time arrangements, a company note savings program, 12 weeks of fully paid maternity leave, and access to free health management resources and programs.

Overall, this opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to join a reputable, employee-focused retail organization with a focus on customer satisfaction, safety, and career growth. Working at Gordon Food Service Store means joining a tobacco-free and drug-free workplace that supports diversity, encourages professional development, and recognizes the crucial role of every team member in delivering outstanding service to customers. Become a part of a company where your contributions are valued, and your well-being matters.
