With a focus on competitive wages and comprehensive benefits, Gordon Food Service emphasizes employee well-being and development, creating a workplace where team members are valued and career opportunities abound.
This specific position is for a Van Delivery Driver based in Jacksonville, Florida. The role offers a competitive hourly wage of $16 and requires weekend availability with store hours from Monday through Saturday 7 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 9 AM to 6 PM. The company is closed on major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter, allowing employees to enjoy time off with their families and loved ones. The Van Delivery Driver role is vital in maintaining the "Customer is King" philosophy by ensuring that deliveries are made courteously, accurately, and on time, contributing directly to customer satisfaction. This position combines driving responsibilities with support in store operations, offering a dynamic work environment that balances fast-paced retail service with opportunities for teamwork and personal development.
As a Van Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for the professional operation of a delivery van, completing variable daily routes while ensuring product accuracy and timeliness. Daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle will be part of your routine, ensuring safety and reliability. Moreover, the role demands excellent customer service skills to build and maintain positive customer relationships. Inside the store, you will assist in order picking, customer transactions, merchandising, and inventory management, including product rotation and planogram execution. This comprehensive approach supports efficient store operation and a superior shopping experience for customers. Gordon Food Service values employees who are detail-oriented, dependable, and safety-conscious, promoting a culture where each employee’s contribution is recognized and essential to the company’s ongoing success.
The company boasts a high internal promotion rate and offers development programs to support employees’ career growth. Employees benefit from profit sharing and a 401(k) plan, employee assistance programs, and ComPsych 24/7 mental health support. Discounts are available on purchases, and other benefits include affordable health insurance, dental and vision coverage, short and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, and flexible scheduling. Notably, the company provides 12 weeks of 100% paid maternity leave and offers health management resources to support overall well-being. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a balance between customer service, logistical challenges, and active participation in store operations within a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. Gordon Food Service’s commitment to equal opportunity employment and reasonable accommodation further demonstrates its dedication to a respectful and inclusive work environment.
