Gordon Food Service consistently ranks highly for customer satisfaction in the retail food industry, emphasizing its commitment to quality service and operational excellence.
The Van Delivery Driver role at Gordon Food Service Store LLC is a critical position responsible for ensuring courteous, timely, and accurate delivery of products along a variable daily route. This role requires the professional operation of a delivery van, maintaining safety and attention to detail during all phases of the delivery process. In addition to driving duties, the Van Delivery Driver supports in-store operations before or after route completion, contributing to the overall customer experience. Employees in this role will benefit from a competitive pay rate of $17-$18 per hour based on experience, along with a structured schedule that offers consistent work hours from Monday through Saturday and Sundays with reduced hours. The store closes on major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter, allowing employees to enjoy these important times off.
This position offers more than just the financial reward, as employees have access to a variety of benefits designed to support their well-being and career growth. Gordon Food Service emphasizes high internal promotion rates, reflecting a commitment to developing talent from within through comprehensive training and development programs. The company supports employees with profit sharing, a 401(k) retirement plan, and employee assistance programs, including 24/7 mental health support via ComPsych. Additional perks include employee discounts both in-store and through Beneplace, enhancing the value of working at Gordon Food Service.
Eligible employees can access a wide range of insurance options, such as affordable health coverage, prescription, dental, and vision insurance, and short- and long-term disability plans. Paid time off and flexible scheduling options help promote work-life balance, while a company note savings program and fully paid maternity leave demonstrate a commitment to financial security and family-friendly policies. Employees may also take advantage of free health management resources, underscoring the company’s holistic approach to health and wellness.
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Van Delivery Driver include accurately picking orders for wholesale customers, maintaining strong customer relationships by ensuring satisfaction with each delivery, and performing vehicle inspections to ensure safety and functionality. In the store, the driver supports the sales floor by processing transactions, securing assets, receiving and merchandising products, and maintaining organized and visually appealing stocking areas.
Overall, Gordon Food Service Store LLC offers a dynamic work environment where dedication to customers and each other is fostered. This role is ideal for individuals with a customer service mindset, a clean driving record, and the physical ability to handle deliveries and associated tasks. The company’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is reflected in its equal employment opportunity policy and accommodation provisions, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all employees.
