Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- One or more years' experience in a full production kitchen or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Basic math skills with ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to use a variety of kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to talk and hear
- Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged hours
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends and holidays
- Compliance with all company and legal policies
- Successfully pass a background check
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One or more years' experience in a full production kitchen or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred degree or certificate from an accredited culinary school
- Preferred two years or more of hands-on experience in high volume food service operation, hotel or restaurant
- Preferred Food Handler certificate from the County of San Diego
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to use kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to communicate and perceive sounds
Job Duties
- Prepares products as assigned by production records
- Follows approved recipes and standards for consistency and accuracy of products
- Maintains the cleanliness of the workstation at all times
- Follows all sanitation guidelines ensuring fresh, wholesome products
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Assists with accepting deliveries and stores raw food products according to established standards
- May assist in the cleaning of equipment, tools, or pans
- Complies with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws including employment, safety, and health
- Performs other duties as assigned
